Goals for 2012

I am so looking forward to 2012, don't get me wrong, 2011 was a great year but I can feel it in my waters that 2012 is going to be totally amazing  :-D

I have been thinking of my goals for my Round 1 2012 of 12wbt for a week or so now and also for the rest of 2012. I am really excited to start being able to achieving them.

In no particular order my Round 1 2012 goals are -
-to lose 15kg
-to move from obese to overweight
-to fit comfortably in size 14 clothes
-to compete is a few fun runs
-continue with the 'learn to run program'.
-run 1km of the athletics track non stop.
-run 5km non stop (I have told my son I will be able to do this for the fun run 'run for the kids' in April)
-continue to not have Coca Cola and chocolate
-improve on fitness tests
-take a photo of myself each month
-Try an aqua class at the gym (this was a goal from last round and I didn't do it !)
-At the gym ride the bike for 45 minutes without stopping.
-Attend an RPM class once per month (this was a goal from last round and I only did 1 class)
- up my water intake each day. This can still be a struggle to remember, but I'm getting better.
-no longer need my ventolin inhaler (except in emergencies). I am definitely using it less.

My goals for the whole year are -
- to lose another 15kg after Round 1
-To move from overweight to healthy weight range
-to fit into size 12 clothes
-to run 10km non stop

The year that was 2011

2011 has been a great year for me, especially the 2nd half ot it. Some major highlights were -
Jeremy started highschool.
Hollie has more confidence to visit the orthodontist without complaining.
Callum's behaviour improved drastically from August.
We went on a family cruise to the South Pacific for 7 nights.
The kids had many sporting and academic achievments.
I joined 12wbt.com - BEST decision ever and the best money I have ever spent !

After the round 3 finished I have still been ging along nicely, I have had a few gains (TTOTM/xmas) but overall I am happy with myself. I am still exercising every day. I am still enjoying myself and challenging myself. I have joined an 'eight week challenge' with some like minded people. Their support and motivation has been amazing.

I was keen to finish 2011 at at 20kg loss and start pre season as close to 80kg as I could, but unfortunately that hasn't happened. I'm cool with that though. I weighed in this morning for the last time in 2011 at 88.2kg. So overall that is a loss of 17.3kg since starting my journey. So now my goal is to get as close to 85kg as I can to start off the pre season, and then be as close to 80kg as I can to start the official season. Then during Round 1 2012, I hope to lose at least 12kg.

woahha I can't believe the 12wbt is officially finished !

EEKKK I can't believe I am making this photo public, but I guess it makes me more accountable !

However, I'm not nearly finished, in fact I am only getting started !

I have lost 16.7kg, 40cm from all over my body.
My fitness has improved, I can now -
run 1km in 7.52.
do 14 push ups
do a wall sit for 25 seconds.

I can now fit into size 18 clothes, almost 16.

I am continuing this new lifestyle of mine and I will be signing up to the 12wbt.com again in January. Before that kicks off on the 16th, I want to lose 8kg more. And then for the 12 weeks I am aiming for 15kgs.  woo hoo

Now I wish I wore my 'after' clothes as my 'before' clothes also !

Hello week 12 and hello the 80s!

Today is meant to be Wednesday weigh in, however, as it is the last week of the 12wbt rd 3 for 2011, weigh in can be any time between today and Sunday before midnight. So I am giving myself some extra days to burn some more caloires. I did weigh in this morning though as it is just a habit now, I have lost 500grams this week, which i am happy with seeing as it is TTOTM. So if I lose another 500 grams by Sunday I will be thrilled. I am now sitting at 89.5 ! Woo hoo I'm an 80s girl. Which is a total loss of 16 kg.

I couldn't be happier. I will do a proper wrap up of the round with a video included probably on Monday. However, this is not the end for me, I am continuing the program myself over the 'off season' and then I am joining back up with the 12wbt program on the 16th January. Bring it on!

12 weeks of no junk food
11 new recipes to make (plus more)
10 kilos lost (plus more)
9 weeks of tears of joy
8 minutes a kilometre
7 12wbt FB/forums groups to join
6 days at the gym
5 burpees in a minute
4 new pairs of pants
3 sizes smaller
2 zumba classes a week
1 and new outlook on life !

Week 11 is coming to an end !

I can't believe we are this far into the 12week program. Time certinaly flies when you're having fun ;p

Wednesday weigh in was awesome to me. I had a loss of 1.1 kgs, so my total loss is now 15.5kg . I am so happy with that result and so proud of myself.

I'm now down to 90kg and by next weigh in I definitely want to be celebrating being an 80s girl!

A little update !

The last 2 weigh in have seen me lost 900 grams each week. I am now at a total lose of 14.4 kg. My goal is to be at 89.9 kg at the end of the 12 weeks. I am now sitting on 91.1kg ! By Christmas day I would like to be as close to 85kg as possible. And then by the start of the Rd 1 2012 I would like to be as close to 80kg as possible.  I definitely will be continuing the program over the 'off season'.

Sugar Free Me

Today marks the 79th day that I haven't had any soft drink, chocolate, chips, or any other nasties ! My main focus when starting this journey was to stop drinking Coke and eating chocolate. I used to have a minimum of 2 litres of Coke a DAY and a BLOCK of chocolate every 2 days. I was out of control. I craved Coke all the time. It was like I needed it to stay alive, when in fact it was killing me. I didn't drink anything except Coke. If at a friend's house and they didn't have Coke I would much prefer to go without. I never tried Diet or the other Cokes, my coke had to be the real Coke. Thinking about it more now, that was a disgusting habit.

I am a massive chocolate fan and I do miss it now, but I had to completely wipe it out of my diet as I bet if I had a small amount I just couldn't stop. So I much prefer to have none at all and I am ok with that. The same goes for other junk foods like chips, Clint and myself would have a bag each of a night when the kids went to bed. We both would have the 3 C's together, Coke, Chocolate and Chips in a bowl while watching TV or being on the PC. We both would often go back for 2nd also. This could be 9pm at night when our tummies should have been settling down for the night not being fed crap and then feeling awful all night and in the mornings.

So I decided all of this crap had to leave the house immediately and it wasn't to come back in at all. The temptation would just be too big for me to control just now. And honestly, the kids don't need that shit to eat either. They are healthy kids and I was showing them bad awful grouse habits. Tehy don't need to follow in my bad habits and foot steps. Sweet biscuits got thrown out, lollies, cakes, donuts, chips, chocoalte, all soft drinks (I was allowing my precious cherubs to have other varierties of soft drinks - they loved diet coke and vanilla coke etc. ), surgary cereals, raw sugar, EVERYTHING nasty got thrown away and it hasn't entered out house since.

I won't say it has been easy, because the 1st week was absolutely awful, I had the most terrible headaches the whole time, I couldn't sleep properly and I am sure I was moody. But I knew it was all for the best. Once I got passed the first week and a half I felt great. I was tempted a few times at the supermarket to just grab a bottle of Coke but I didn't, thankfully, I always made sure I had a bottle of water in my hand or reach at all times, and that has been fantastic. I actually now don't think I could even have a sip of Coke without gagging, I am sure it tastes horrid after all this time. I now really love water !

This is one thing in my life that I am definitely proud of doing - giving Coke the flick ! As well as all the other nasties. And it is showing with myself losing almost 12 kg :D My skin has got smoother, I haven't had any breakouts, my moods are much better and I can even see the better behaviour in my kids, especially Callum my 10 year olds. Although he still has his hyperactive moments, he is listening more. :)

I can't wait to hit 100 days free of junk !

My Goals

My main goal is to weigh in between 54kg - 67kg as this is the healthy weight range for my height. So from right now (30.10.11) I want to lose 27.4kg to get to 67kg.
I will lose 27kg + in 2011 and 2012.

These figures are very daunting to me, especially 54kg, that just sounds so tiny from what I am now and it seems so 'forever away'. But as I said that is my main goal. And as another blogger (Splasharama) has previously mentioned, I just need to forget about that number and concerntrate on the smaller goals first so I'm not too overwhelmed before even really starting.

Mini goalsWhen I first joined the 12wbt I set my first mini goals in terms of weight loss...5kg at a time. Now after talking to other people about their goals I am finding it is a good idea to also set mini goals as achievements like running a certain distance, aiming for a certain size clothing, doing a new sport, doing a new gym class etc etc . The mini goal list can be endless :)

So I have now reassessed my mini goals are they are -

- register for a fun run (I'm doing the Sussans Womens Fun Run in December.)
-continue with the 'learn to run program'.
-keep my heart rate at 150bpm average the majority of body step class.
-fit into size 18 pants comfortably (atm I am varying between a 20 and 18). tick as of 13/11/11
-fit into size 16 pants.
-fit into size 14 pants.
-run 400m of the athletics track non stop. tick :)
-run 800m of the athletics track non stop.
-run 1km of the athletics track non stop.
-continue to not have Coca Cola and chocolate (it's been 108 days so far !)
-improve on fitness tests.
-take a photo of myself each month. continuing to do.
-Try a pump class at the gym.
-Try an aqua class at the gym.
-At the gym ride the bike for 45 minutes without stopping.
-Attend an RPM class once per month.
-Participate in the Zumba-thon for 2 hours straight. Tick and it was so much fun.
- up my water intake each day. This can still be a struggle to remember, but I'm getting better.
-no longer need my ventolin inhaler (except in emergencies). I am definitely using it less.

Rewards
- for every 5 kg loss I am treating myself to a movie at the cinemas.

Some other rewards are going to be -
- new clothes. This is happening often atm.
- colour in my hair.
- new gym clothes (Lorna Jane).
-attend the 12wbt finale after Rd 1 2012.
- book a weekend away for Clint and myself.
-new runners
-buy a box set of DVDs of my favourite shows.
-book a cruise
-get another tattoo
-new makeup
-buy gorgeous lingerie

I am sure I will think of some more goals and rewards over the next few days so I will be sure to update the list :)

Body Attack virgin no more !

On Wednesday I went to my first ever Body Attack class and to say I was shit scared at first is a total understatement ! I really don't know why I was so worried though, I really loved the class, it was great. I was able to keep going at all times and never felt like dying while giving all my effort. I loved it so much I went back today to do another session and I loved it even more <3 Another first for me is going to happen on Wednesday night when I give boxing a go !

Down Down the numbers are going down !

Wednesday weigh in is here again, jeepers the weeks are flying past at a fast pace lately ! It is something like 60 days until Christmas...eeek

I lost 700grams this week and I am mightly happy with that result considering it is TTOTM :D I really worked my butt off this week with exercise and also food consumption.

This week has been semi emotional and stressful as my Miss Hollie has a lesion on her head and on Friday the GP wanted her to see a dermitologist urgently. I tried to make an appointment but was told the next available appointment wasn't until late January (and that was for urgent cases !!!). So I went back to the GP to get this sorted and even she couldn't manage to get an appointment quickly. So another dermo was rang and I was told 3-4 weeks is the earliest Hollie could be seen. I took that appointment but also told them to put me on the cancellation list and I could be there at the drop of a hat. Thankfully they called yesterday morning and they could see Hollie within 30 minutes. So I had to get her from school and miss my step class (sad face) and get her there immediately. I really don't know what the rush was for as we waited an hour in the waiting room ! Anyway, the dermo doesn't know what is causing the lesion (and hair loss on her scalp) so some swabs and hair has been sent to a pathologist. So now the real waiting game begins with these results. In the past I would have turned to food for comfort in this situation but instead I turned to focussing on the real issue and that was supporting my baby girl and assuring her I will make sure the bald spot (which is about the size of a 20 cent piece) is covered all the time while out. It needs to stay uncovered at home to try and heal proeprly.

All the talk atm on the forums is about the 12wbt finale party, I am a bit jealous I can't make it but I am excited for everyone who is attending. If only there was a money tree in my backyard hey ! Next year though, I am set to be there :D

Rewards

I hear lots of people talking about rewarding themselves with massages, manicures, fancy haircuts, day spas etc... that is so not me. I don't find any of those 'treats' appealing at all.

At the start of the 12wbt program I made a goal of losing10kg from the pre season. My reward for reaching this goal would be to get a new tattoo :D Today I got just that ! It is located on my left forearm.

It represents me believing in myself and believing that I can now achieve anything I set out to achieve <3 . Nothing can stop me now.

Ouchie

Oh.My.Jeepers. My. Butt. Hurts !

I did my first RPM class last night with my friend Sue, Clint and Jeremy. It was a first for all of us. We got to the class early to secure a bike each as I know this class can be packed. Well I was right because there was only one bike vacant ! I can't say I actually enjoyed the class, I mean the atmosphere was good, the instructor was nice, the music was from a good range but the seats on the bike were just too uncomfortable for my liking ! I just couldn't get comfy at all and it really made me struggle with focussing on riding the actual bike. I know I should have just sucked it up like everyone else, but I didn't. Maybe I just went into the class with the wrong attitude to start with.? I definitely am not in a rush to get back to the class !

This morning I am slightly sore, moreso my butt hurts the most :O

Tonight I am going back to a regualr class that I really enjoy and like. ZUMBA!

Ding Ding Ding

10.4kg lost since starting the pre season 9 weeks ago. I am so happy that I have achieved a goal :)
This weeks weigh in was great for me with a loss of 1.9kg ! I am sure that the Body Step class I did yesterday worked wonders as I stepped my butt off !

I ate completely clean during the week and it has paid off, I am quite proud of myself. I have never got this far in a weight loss program before and I have never actually enjoyed a program until now. I am loving the food and I am loving the gym, especially the classes. Tonight I am trying RPM for the very first time and I am already scared !!! If I go at my own pace I am sure I will learn to love it... well hopefully. I notice when I am at the gym this class is always so packed, so it must be a good class, right?!

On Monday I went to the local op shop to buy some new clothes. I didn't want to buy anything new or expensive as I will need to buy clothes quite often and to me that is a waste. So at the op shop I got some cargo pants and jeans in 2  (TWO) sizes smaller than what I have previously worn! How awesome if that !!!

This morning I am off to Sh'Bam class, I absolutely love this class :) and then I will come home and prepare for the 6.40pm class of RPM !

Consistency and Intensity is the goal for week 6.

I can't believe week 6 of the 12wbt.com.au starts tomorrow. Time sure does fly when you're having fun !

As I'm now half way through the program it is time to really up the anty. Eating clean is a major priority this week along with making each workout count to the maximum. Instead of putting in 85% effort into exercise I will be aiming for 100% all throughout each session.

Instead of thinking about what has to be done through the day, I will JFDI. While my first 5 weeks haven't had extraordinary results on the scales, I will make sure I come hmoe strong with the rest of the weeks.

Saturday, October 15, 2011

If I keep this up I will be at a 10kg loss on Wednesday

I jumped on to the scales this morning and they made me excited. If they keep going in the downward direction until Wednesday morning then I will have lost 10+kg since starting the 12wbt pre season...eeekkk

Today before work I ducked into Kmart (my works opposition) to buy a new pair of black work pants. My current ones are a size 22 and they are falling down on me. I tried a 20 on and they felt too loose also. So I ended up buying an EIGHTEEN (yep an 18). I haven't worn an 18 for a long time. I am so excited that I am now going to head to a 2nd hand shop like Savers/Salvos etc and buy some cheap smaller clothes ! There is no point in buying expensive clothes when my shape and size will vary so much in the next 6 months or so.

My eating is back on track thankfully, I am having 1200 calories a day now. It is great to be back in control in this area. I am still doing and loving the gym classes, I definitely think Sh'Bam is my favourite, followed by Body Step and then Zumba. I still want to give Body Attack/Combat a go when I can.

Wednesday, October 12, 2011

I'm not surprised !

Wednesday weigh in is here and I had a not surprising gain. A 600 gram gain ! As I have said previously the exercise is going really really well. I am actually loving the gym and as I haven't been for 2 days due to beig away I am missing it. Today I am hoping I can get back there but I have to catch up on washing and general housework after being away. Also Hollie has a dentist appointment this afternoon !

So my issue is definitely the food. I haven't been eating 1200 calories everyday, it has been more like 800 calories, so I think I am sending my body in to starvation mode and it is not liking it at all. Therefore I am not losing the weight I set out to lose. I guess this is a learning curve for me and I will use it to get back on track. I know the 12wbt works, I just have to use it correctly.

I just reviewed my goals and if I continue not eating the correct calories I will definitely not reach my goals. So today I will look at what is happening for the rest of the week and next week and get back on track.

Onwards and Upwards !

Time to re-watch the mind set lessons I think.

I have been feeliing a bit blah this week. It was my 36th birthday yesterday, maybe that is why :/
I am going really really good on the exercise and I'm really loving going to the gym everyday. Today I was there for 3 classes - Sh'Bam, Core, and Body Vive. I also did 30 minutes on the traeadmill between the last 2 classes ! At home I am also keeping active with general housework and gardening. I really do have much more energy than before this started.

However, I have not been following the food program 100%, more like 80%. I mean don't get me wrong, I haven't had anything nasty to eat since starting the pre season, except for going out for dinner for Clint's birthday. I have been doing my own menu plans with the information I have already learnt. I don't think I am truly ready for this though just yet, and I think it is showing on the scales. I am only losing between 400-700 grams a week, and I know that is totally fine, but it won't allow me to reach my goal at the end of the the program at this rate.

So I will re-watch the tasks and then go back to the weekly plans and follow them exactly as asked.

Amazing and Inspirational

This gorgeous girl has been doing the 12wbt program for a few years... her results are amazing! She is amazing!

Music

I found this picture today and it is so true. The music that is played at the classes is awesome, I find myself singing along and working harder with it.  It really does get me moving harder and my muscles (some I didn't know I owned !!!) are definitely being tortured !

I tried a new class today

This morning I had an assessment at the gym - they did the routine measurements, which I'm not going by. I much prefer to go by the ones I have already taken for the 12 wbt. Also their scales show different figures than mine so pfft to them ;p

So after the assessment I came home and got the kids ready to take them to the pool at the gym complex. So while they were swimming I did my 1st ever Body Step class. I felt really comfortable with the class as there were lots of newbies and it was a small class of about 10 ladies. It was damn hard work and I sweated like I have never sweated before. I did find it really tough with some tracks being much faster, but overall I loved it and will definitely be going back next week.

Yesterday Hollie had another cali competition but it was a later one so I got up early and went and did a Zumba class. It really had me energised for the rest of the day and for work that night :)

My eating has been all good foods this week, however I made my own choices and haven't followed the menu plan exactly. All my choices were good ones though. So tomorrow for weigh in Wednesday I am hoping for a loss of 1-1.5kgs :)

Saturday, October 1, 2011

Getting there !

Well I have been to the gym every day since joining except one when Hollie had a calisthenics competition all day and I had to work that night. The 1st few days I just used the treadmill for an hour, I just walked on it. I then moved onto using the tready and the bike. The bike was hard work. I am now starting to learn to run on the treadmill.

I have done 3 classes. 2 zumba ones and 1 Sh'Bam class. I love them both. I am getting up the courage to give Step and Attack a go now, while I continue doing zumba and sh'bam aswell as the gym equipment.

I actually thought the gym would be intimidating but actually everyone just goes about their own work out without even worrying about anyone else. Just the way I want it to be.

Exercise is about to become a good friend of mine.

Yesterday I joined a gym :) I'm so excited and so nervous all rolled into in.  Mixed emotions do my head it :/  Tomorrow is going to be my first time using the gym, I am planning on doing my SSS (instead of today) then. I just hope I don't make a tosser out of myself  in front of lots of people.

I so need to embrace the gym though because the 12wbt just isn't cutting it at home with what I am surrently doing. My losses have been only slight and it is getting me down. I so want to rock this last 10 weeks so I will be going every day most weeks. Hollie has a calisthenics comp for the next 2 Mondays so I can go then and I work Monday nights so again that's out. But the other days are fine. While it is school holidays I might even take the kids with me some days as the gym is a YMCA one that has pools and slides etc :)

Bring on my goal of 15-20kg by December.... I am already 7kg down so going ok.

Week 2 Wednesday weigh in.

I am both disappointed but also not surprised. I lost 300grams ! I am sure it has a lot to do with the red flag day on Saturday with no exercise and also giving it at the Mexican restaurant for dinner. Other than Saturday my food choices have been clean. The exercise has been pretty hit and miss. I did go jogging 3 days but I didn't go out very hard. I did some DVD workouts at home but again I only gave about 50% effort.
I am missing going walking around my area a great deal, but the thought of the magpies just terrifies me. :(
My birthday is coming up in a few weeks and I am wondering whether I should ask Clint and my parents to buy me a gym membership?? I have had one many years ago and lost interest in it quickly. But I have never been this keen and ready to lose weight more than now, so I know I will use it. The cost os more daunting than anything though :(
I'm at 97.7kg now. So down 7.8

Pinched from another blog !

1. Describe yourself in 25 words or less...
35, carefree, loves to laugh, lazy, Grey's anatomy lover, 80 music lover.

2. What brings you to 12wbt? Getting fitter? Losing weight? (Gaining weight?) Are you first timer, a repeat offender?
I'm a first time 12wbt'er who is trying to lose weight. I have tried every program out there but have always lost interest after losing 5kg. I have now lost 7kg and still here :)

3. Why do you blog??
It is a place for me to talk without judgement .

4. Who is your biggest inspiration in life and why (doesn't have to be weight loss)
hmm this is a toughy ! I have never really had a 'hero' or someone who has really stood out as inspiring to me. I mena of course my parents are awesome but not inspring if that makes sense. My kids are great and do amazing things each day and I totally live for them. But right now I think the inspiring people in my life atm are all the 12wbt'ers who have lost massive amounts of weight. I definitely want to follow in their footsteps.

5. What things in life bring you the most joy?
My kids...no doubt about it. Jeremy who is 13 is a wonderful kid. He is smart and funny and truly is a good kid.. everything he touches he excells at. Hollie who is 11 is my princess. She has had a rough childhood with lots of operations and procedures. It has been a struggle a few times with recovery but she always gets through it in the end. She is so sweet and so loving and just loves life. Her girlfriends are her world as well as Justin Bieber !!!! Callum is 10 and boy oh boy he has made me earn my parenting stripes. He is in his own world and only really concerns about himself. but OMG he is the most hilarious kid I have ever met. He is just so freaking funny !

6.What do you think your greatest challenge is going to be this round?
Actually sticking to the 12 weeks !

7. What are you most excited about 12WBT?
Learning to love the right foods. And learning to love to cook.

8. And what scares the pants off you?
Failing!

9. Tell me - right now - today - how do you feel about exercise in no more than 10 words.
The pain it gives scares the crap out of me.

10. Complete this sentence - in 12 weeks time - on the last day of 12WBT I am going to be feeling....
relieved that I actually completed the full 12 weeks. I am going to be feeling overwhlemed with losing between 15-20 kgs. I am going to be stressing about how will I cope over the Christmas holiday period and I will be counting down the days until Round 1 2012 starts.

This is where I have been going most days

I am finding a new love of jogging. I never thought I would be able to jog but I am getting better and going further each day I go here. This athletics track is brand spanking new in my local area. It is open to anyone by just a push of the button :) This is where I did my fitness test. I can't jog around the whole track in one go just yet, but my goal is by the end of the 12 weeks I will be able to. Right now I can jog around quarter by quarter. That is much further than I ever thought I could do :) I love how the track feels on my feet and legs, it is so soft and bouncy. Much better than a regular footpath.

Week 1 done and now on to week 2

Week 1 has now been completed ! All the food was delicious and very easy to prepare and make, which is exactly how I like it. Saturday was my major red flag day. Hollie had a calisthenics competiton from 7am to 3pm. I made some salad sandwiches to have there which was good. At 4pm I started work until 7pm. So there was no exercise done. Saturday was also Clint's birthday and he had chosen to go to Nachos for dinner. I had big plans of choosing the right food choices but I gave in :( I had some nachos and also a burrito thingy. That has been my only slip up for the last month.

On Sunday I was going to go to the 1000 steps with Hollie while all the boys worked on our new decking, however, I slept in till about 11am (these late night shifts are killing me) and then after that I did some housework and just couldn't be stuffed leaving the house. Yeah yeah I know EXCUSE CENTRAL!!! I did however, stick to the right food choices all day.

Yesterday (Monday) I was determined to try the 1000 steps. After dropping the kids at school I went straight there. It was so busy ! Oh it was a killer workout!!!

Going along nicely !

Today is Day 3 of the 12wbt program and I am loving it. The food is amazing. Everyone in the house is loving it. So far my favourite is the chicken with herbed yoghurt sause and salad. Tonight for dinner is Jen's Lasagne. Lasagne is a favourite of my kids so I can't wait to hear their verdit on this one. :)
Exercise is going good. Yesterday I went to our local athletics track and jogged and walked 3km and I actually enjoyed it. I am going to try and do that everyday. Today I didn't make it there but will go out for a jog tonight with Clint when he gets home from work.
Today was weigh in day and I lost 700grams, at first I was disappointed with this but then realised it was 2 days worth so that is actually good. Can't wait for next Wednesday's weigh in now. Since starting the pre season I am now down 7.5kg :)

Fitness Test completed.

This afternoon after my 2 son's football presentation we all went to our local brand spanking new athletics track so I could complete my fitness test. Even the dog came!!!

The results are in -

  • 1km time trial - 9 minutes 51 seconds
  • the push up test - 8 (not sure if I was doing them correctly!)
  • abdominal strength test - I couldn't do this - so level 1
  • wall sit - 15 seconds
  • sit and reach test - -20cm

I got the beginner level in all tests, which was no surprise.

2 more sleeps...

until the 12wbt starts officially !
I am a little nervous, although right now I am more nervous about doing the fitness test tomorrow. 1km doesn't bother me, I will walk/semi jog that. I am more concerned about the push up test. I tried to do a push up today while doing the Boot Camp DVD and I struggled BIG TIME ! Also the Abdominal test is daunting. I only managed to do one of those today. That really hurt my lower back (moreso the laying down hurt rather than doing the actually sitting up. The wall test and the stretch test I can handle for a short time.
I was going to go and do the fitness test with some girls from my area in the 12wbt, but I don't want to look like a goose so I might just do it with my hubby instead. Still undecided.
I really need to start exercising up a notch if I want to see the results I want. My goal is a 20kg loss and that won't be happening if I stay at the intensity I am up now. I need to give 100% effort for the whole workout not just in spurts.
I am sort of still struggling with my head and the excuses. I am working on it though, I need to listen to my good thoughts and not the naughty thoughts. I am fine with my food choices, in fact I think I am going awesomely in that department, it is the actual moving of my body I need to work on more.

Before photos - WOW

This photo was taken today (September 10th 2011) weighing 98.7kg.

This 2nd photo is quite painful to look at...

Week 1 is about to start

Yesterday I received my week 1 exercise plan, nutrition plan, shopping list and weekly surprise. The surprise is I need to do a fitness test. This semi scares me ! I will be completing my test on Sunday at the local athletics track when Clint can help me.

The nutrition plan sounds great, there were no 'yuk' meals listed so I am really looking forward to starting that on Monday. Today I went shopping for everything on the list and I spent $50 on the fruit and vegetables and $210 on the rest of the stuff. Over the next few weeks it should be cheaper as some of the ingredients will last a while.

The exercise plan is exactly how I thought it would be. As I am doing it from home and also outdoors, I can stick with my DVDs and also set up a course in the backyard.

I took a photo of my filled up fridge with all the devine fruit and vegies.

Exercise

My main form of exercise so far on this journey has been walking. I started off walking for 30 minutes for a few days and then I graduated to walking at a faster pace for an hour. I strap my ipod on and put my dog (Maggie) on her leash and off we go. I was really enjoying it.... until Spring hit !

I have a real fear of birds, they totally freak me out if they come near me. In my area we are surrounded by big trees and magpies. The magpies have been in full force this week with swooping so much already and Spring has only just started :(

So unfortunately I have stopped walking and I really miss it. I need to find another area where I can walk safely without continually looking around to see how close a bird is to me. This will more than likely mean I will have to drive somewhere to go for a walk.

Pre Season Tasks completed !

  • Task 1 - Introduce Yourself - I hopped onto the forums straight away and introduced myself to everyone. I joined a few groups - 30+kg to lose, Melbourne group, Beginners group.

  • Task 2 - Get Real - I listed my excuses and things that were/are preventing me from succeeding. I have taken account for my own actions and decisions. I have found solutions for my excuses.

  • Task 3 - Set your goals - My 12 week goals are to lose 12kg, jog 1km without stopping. To be under 90kg. To be able to make the right choices in food.

  • Task 4 - Gear Up - I like this task as I got to spend money! I bough new runners, a HRM, some workout DVDs, training clothes, fit ball, cookbooks.

  • Task 5 - Say it out Loud - I am still working on this task.

  • Task 6 - Kitchen Makover - This was quite easy as I had already stopped buying crap when I first joined the program at task 1. I had a couple of things that I threw out that were mainly out of date.

  • Task 7 - Organise and Diarise - I am still completing this one.

  • Task 8 - Measure Up- I have added my measurements in the post before. I still need to take my photo though. I will do this in the next day or so as I waiting for my dreaded cold sore to clear up first.

Tomorrow I will get the menu and exercise plans, I will then go grocery shopping and do some cooking. Then on Monday it officially begins. Bring It On !!!

Michelle Bridges 12WBT

Things are changin' - yeah I know I say it all the time, however this time it is the real deal. I AM going to lose weight and change my eating lifestyle and family lifestyle to eating and enjoying wholesome nutrious foods.

On the 15th August I joined Michelle Bridges 12 wbt (week body transformation) program after hearing it on the radio and seeing so many people's lives changed on the facebook site. The results have been amazing and I want to be one of those amazing transformations !

I have completed all the pre season tasks and am ready to start the program officially on Monday. I have already made some major changes, I have now been COKE (all soft drinks actually) and CHOCOLATE free for 24 days. This is an awesome effort for me as I used to have a block of chocolate every 2 days and I could easily drink 2 litres of coke EVERY day !
