Pre season task 3 - Take Control - Set your Goals

I am so looking forward to 2012, don't get me wrong, 2011 was a great year but I can feel it in my waters that 2012 is going to be totally amazing  :-D

In no particular order my Round 1 2012 goals are -
-to lose at least 10kg
-to move from obese to overweight
-to fit comfortably in size 14 clothes
-to compete is a few fun runs
-continue with the 'learn to run program'.
-run 1km of the athletics track non stop.
-run 5km non stop (I have told my son I will be able to do this for the fun run 'run for the kids' in April)
-continue to not have Coca Cola and chocolate
-improve on fitness tests
-take a photo of myself each month
-At the gym ride the bike for 45 minutes without stopping.
-Attend an RPM class once per month (this was a goal from last round and I only did 1 class)
- up my water intake each day. This can still be a struggle to remember, but I'm getting better.
-no longer need my ventolin inhaler (except in emergencies). I am definitely using it less.

My goals for the whole year are -
- to lose another 15kg after Round 1
-To move from overweight to healthy weight range
-to fit into size 12 clothes
-to run 10km non stop

Pre season task 2 - Get Real - No more excuses.

INTERNAL EXCUSES-

1.I ate it because it’s in the cupboard.
-Don’t buy it.  If it’s not in the cupboard, you won’t be tempted.

2. I deserve a treat because I’ve been on a diet and working so hard to lose weight and need a break.
-What? Undo all the hard work.  Think how hard it is to burn 500 calories . Find another way to treat yourself - piece of clothing, a magazine.
3. It doesn’t count if no one sees me eat it.
-I read this quote the other day - What you eat in private, people see in public.

4. There’s nothing to eat in the house and I can't be bothered cooking so I’ll order take-away.
-Get organised, Be prepared . Menu plan in advance.

5.I’m tired and a chocolate bar will pick me up again.
- Go to bed earlier the night before.

6. I can’t be bothered cooking or exercising.
-JFDI

7. I slept in and am now running late, its just easier to grab anything on the way.
-Plan your day in advance.  Keep a healthy snack in your bag for the JIC moments

8. All the good TV shows are about to start back on TV.
-If you exercise earlier in the day then the TV show can be a treat of a night.

9. I can do it later.
- Later tends to turn into never. So get organised and get the exercise out of the way early in the day.

EXTERNAL EXCUSES WITHIN MY CONTROL -

1. It is too hot/too cold to go outside.
- Go to the gym, it's has air conditioning and fans and it is INDOORS ! you bought a membership for this very excuse.

2. My house is a mess, I really need to clean it up.
- Plan your day better to fit everything in. Get the kids and husband to help around the house. Wake up earlier to get the most out of the day.

EXTERNAL EXCUSES OUT OF MY CONTROL.

1. Calls from the school to say that a child is sick or needs to go to the doctor/orthodontist urgently.
-Keep a healthy snack in your bag/car or quickly grab something from the cupboard/fridge that would be suitable until you get home again

2. Work calling at late notice to come in for a shift.
-Prepare meals in advance if this happens a lot.

Pre season Task 1 - Introduce yourself

I was going to do a V-Blog but I couldn't work out how to upload it from my phone !

Anyway, my Round 1 2012 introduction goes something like this -

My name is Nicole, I'm 36 years old, I live in Melbourne with my husband Clint, my 3 cherubs, Jeremy 13, Hollie 11 and Callum 10. We have 1 dog, a Pugalier named Maggie, 2 cats named Puss and Tigger and our latest addition Alice the white rabbit. I work PT in retail 4 evenings a week.

This is my 2nd round at the 12WBT, I completed Round 3 2010 with a 16.7kg loss. I started at 105.5 and finished the round at 88.8kg. My goal for this round is to lose at least 10kg. As of right now (Tuesday) I am weighing in at 85.7kg, tomorrow is my weigh day and I am hoping to see a 20kg loss in total.

Some more info about me - I love night time TV, my favourites are Desperate Housewives, Greys Anatomy, Criminal Minds, Packed to the Rafters, How I Met Your Mother and there are heaps heaps more. Thankfully I record them all and I am going to use them as my reward for working hard when they all return this year.

I belong to my local gym where I do mainly group fitness classes, the ones I frequent often are Zumba, Sh'Bam, Pump, Step and Attack. This round I want to really focus on doing RPM classes. This round I have also joined a local 12wbt group and we are walking/jogging together twice per week. This is fantastic and so inspiring and motivating. I also attend a newly formed group personal training session once per week.

I will leave it here for the moment.

4 more sleeps until pre season starts

Heelllooo 2012 - You are so going to be my year !

The next round of the 12wbt officially starts on Monday February 13th and the pre season starts on Monday (16th January). I am so ready for it. Although nothing has changed since Round 3 2011 finished. I am still attending the gym and training mean, I am still eating clean and I am still trying my damn hardest.

Oh actually something has changed ! I have met some more amazing women who are also apart of the 12wbt family ! There is a Facebook group for locals in my area and we are meeting for walks/jog twice a week. It is pretty cool to listen to their stories and share and swap advice with one another. Some are newbies to 12wbt and some are return members. They ALL are super friendly though :)  I am also training with Lisa (I can't remember if I have mentioned her before?) I also meant Lisa via the 12wbt online. Lisa and I share similar goals and meet most days at the gym to smash out the calories. :)

I have registered for a 6km fun run on Australia Day down by the Mornington Peninsula- https://www.registernow.com.au/mpausdayfunrun/ I am registering for  Run for the Kids 2012 when it opens at the end of the month for April 1st. My local FB group and doing the Relay for Life challenge in March, it will my first time doing an event like that and I am super excited about it. I will also possibly run in the Mothers Day classic . 2012 is definitely going to be full on and super exciting. I can't wait :)

In early February I am going on a P&O cruise with some girlfriends for 2 nights, this will be an absolute blast, although I am concerned about the amount of calories that will be consumed in the liquid form ! ;p

All I can say to everything that is going to happen in 2012 is BRING. IT. ON !!!
